It’s worth it to get the regular service maintenance
Recently in the shop I had a 1999 Mazda b2500 that wasn’t running. The timing belt had broken, and luckily the valves weren’t bent. However, the water pump needed to be serviced.
You run the risk of needing repairs that cost more than the car is worth when regular maintenance service isn’t done when it was needed.
